You know how most places you shop now require you to insert your card instead of swipe it, due to the added security of the EMV chip? But have you noticed that when you pay for gas at the pump, you’re still swiping?

That’s about to change. Next year, gas stations will be required to update their pumps to the new EMV technology. And our client, Dover Fueling Solutions (DFS)—who makes fuel pumps and other related products—needed our help in getting the word out to their customers.

Our plan involved a multi-channel campaign that targeted both of their audiences—distributors who sell DFS products to station owners, and the station owners themselves. We created a direct mail series (postal and email) that directed recipients to go to the EMV microsite and learn everything they needed to know about EMV payment at the pump. The microsite included FAQs, videos, product specs for their EMV payment solutions, and gated white papers on EMV-related topics relevant to the audience. We also provided DFS with graphics for their website, social media, and digital ads.

We used SharpSpring to create and run the campaign, host the microsite and form, deploy the emails, send follow-ups and notifications, score leads, measure content engagement, and all the other amazing things that marketing automation can do.

Our client was very happy with the quality of our work, which we’re always happy to hear. Even better, though, is that the campaign is getting great results. It’s been running for about 3 months and has brought almost 3,000 visitors to the site. Not bad for a relatively small niche audience. AND, it continues to bring in leads on a weekly basis from various places, including SEO, social media, email, banner ads, and other websites (all tracked through SharpSpring, of course).
